BECAUSE GOOD MENOPAUSE CARE MATTERS
Specialist GPs in Perimenopause and Menopause Care
“To date, menopause, despite being a natural transition for over 51% of the population, has remained an area in women’s health where women’s voices and pain have been ignored or poorly understood”
– The Senate Inquiry into Issues related to menopause and perimenopause, 2024
We get it, because we’ve been there
Like many women in their 40s, we went looking for perimenopause care and came back disappointed. So we decided to create what we’d been looking for.
We are passionate about providing high-quality, evidence-based care for women in perimenopause and menopause. This care is complex. Menopause can have numerous physical and mental health impacts, and the research and treatment options are constantly evolving.
By dedicating our practice solely to menopause and offering longer, specialised consultations, we are committed to providing the comprehensive, personalised care that our professional and personal experience tell us is essential.
We hope for a future where menopause care is easily accessible and embedded in every GP’s practice. Until menopause care is standard - we’re helping bridge the gap.

GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Dr Salina Jamani
Bsc (Honours) MBBS DCH FPAA FRACGP
Dr Salina is a specialist GP and one of the co-founders of Menopause GP. She has always been drawn to women’s health, and her journey—both personal and professional—has shaped the way she cares for her patients.
After graduating from the University of Sydney, she worked as a resident at the Royal Hospital for Women, training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She later moved into sexual and reproductive health, where she gained valuable experience working with women from all walks of life, especially those in marginalised communities.
Salina went on to complete her General Practice training, spending several years training in the Southern Highlands of NSW before settling back in Sydney. She now balances her time between general practice, reproductive health care at Family Planning and her newfound passion for menopause care.
Like many of the women she sees, Salina experienced her own challenges during perimenopause—a time that can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re juggling work, family, and everything in between. Her personal experience opened her eyes to just how hard it can be to find the right support and care. That’s what inspired her to co-create Menopause GP: a place where women could feel heard, supported, and guided with evidence-based care through every stage of menopause.
Salina is committed to staying informed and up to date. In 2024 alone, she attended Menopause Down Under (Australasian Menopause Society), the Sydney Women’s and Children’s Health Update (HealthEd), and the 19th World Congress on Menopause (International Menopause Society), along with several local meetings.
When she’s not working, you’ll likely find her outdoors, trying to keep up with her three energetic kids on the sidelines of a sports field somewhere in Sydney.

GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Dr Caitlin Tunnicliffe
BSc(Psych) MBBS MPH FRACGP DCH
Dr Caitlin Tunnicliffe is a co-founder of Menopause GP and a specialist GP with over 15 years clinical experience. She is passionate about providing the kind of care she wishes more women had access to - care that is comprehensive, unhurried, and deeply respectful of each person’s unique experience.
Since graduating from the University of Sydney in 2006, Caitlin has worked across the full spectrum of physical and mental health conditions. Rather than specialising, she initially focused on communities facing healthcare inequities, working with Indigenous Australians in the Northern Territory and overseas with MSF, as well as completing a Masters in Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
Drawn to General Practice for the continuity of care it offered as well as the opportunity to treat the whole person, she undertook specialty training and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2014.
As a GP she values taking the time to deeply understand each person’s concerns, and believes that good care starts with being truly listened to. This is particularly the case for multi-faceted concerns like menopause and for mental health issues, which she has retained a special interest in since her undergraduate studies in psychology.
Over the years, however, she became increasingly frustrated with the difficulty of providing slow medicine within mainstream general practice. It was also becoming clear that women going through menopause were themselves a community facing healthcare inequity.
A turning point came while listening to Professor Jayashri Kulkarni AM speak about the impact of hormonal fluctuations on women’s mental health. It resonated deeply with Caitlin’s own clinical experience and brought into sharp focus the missed opportunities she had seen over the years—times when hormone therapy might have been more appropriate than antidepressants or other psychiatric treatments for PMS, perinatal depression, or perimenopause.
Motivated to do better, she undertook significant independent study and formal education to upskill in menopause medicine. She now brings that updated, evidence-based knowledge into every consultation, alongside the perspective and empathy that come from years of broad clinical experience.
Caitlin ensures she keeps up to date with scientific information by regularly attending conferences, courses, and education. In 2024 this included: Menopause Down Under (Australasian Menopause Society), IMPART level 1 (International Menopause Society), Sydney Women’s and Children’s Health Update (HealthEd) and the 19th World Congress on Menopause (International Menopause Society), amongst other things.
