If you have a concession or health care card, we will take the deposit you pay when making an appointment ($160 for an Initial Consultation and $92.50 for a Follow-up Consultation) as full payment for the consultation. This means that there is a gap payment of $37.85 for an Initial Consultation and $9.60 for a Follow-Up Consultation. If you are unable to pay the deposit at the time of booking, or if you do not have a concession card but have other financial hardship, please contact us and we will try and accommodate you.

We’d like to! Please contact us and let us know about your situation and we’ll try and accommodate you.

Yes! If you already have a trusted GP who is menopause-informed and able to provide the perimenopause and menopause care that you need, then please continue to see them. We strongly believe in the value of having a regular GP who can manage most, if not all of your healthcare needs and hope that for more women one day this will also include menopause.
-
No, you do not need a referral to see a Menopause GP. If your regular GP (or other health care professional) would like to provide a letter, they can email it to us directly (hello@menopausegp.com.au), or you can upload it when completing the online Pre-consultation Assessment. We highly value working collaboratively with your other healthcare professionals.
-
Yes! After an Initial or Follow-up Consultation, we will email you a Consultation Summary that you can share with your GP or any other member of your healthcare team. We highly value working collaboratively with your other healthcare professionals.

We have plans to open a ‘bricks and mortar’ clinic in Sydney, but currently we are only seeing patients via telehealth.
-
Yes! We see all persons who are seeking help with an issue related to the perimenopause and menopause. Because there is still some controversy about whether people with a past history of breast cancer can safely use hormone therapy, we might need to collaborate with the doctors at a Menopause Hub if this is the treatment you are seeking.
-
Yes! It is very important for people experiencing premature ovarian insufficiency to have the kind of comprehensive menopause care that we can provide.
-
We want you to see someone who is menopause-informed for your menopause care. Unfortunately, not all GPs, gynaecologists or endocrinologists are menopause-informed and so it can be difficult to know who to see. Some patients worry that because we are GPs, we might not be able to manage their menopause and we might refer them to see a ‘specialist’. We do sometimes refer patients to other specialists, but it is not to manage the menopause itself, rather associated conditions such as diabetes/metabolic syndrome (endocrinologist) or heavy menstrual bleeding (gynaecologist). On the rare occasion that we might refer onwards for the menopause itself, we will gladly ‘bulk-bill’ our consultation so that you are not out of pocket.
-
We hope so! If this medicine is safe for you to take and will be effective in managing your issue, then we hope you can start taking it as quickly as possible. The best way to ensure that we can do this at the first visit, is to fill complete the Pre-consultation Assessment as well as you can, including a recent blood pressure check and a breast cancer screening test (mammogram +/- ultrasound) in the past 1-2 years.
